Bohemia Manor Farm
Bohemia Manor Farm is located in Chesapeake City, Maryland. Formerly Chateau Bu De, who initially planted their 22 acres of vines back in 2014, this property was acquired by Vivamee in 2024 and expanded to include a restaurant, dock bar, overnight guest housing and opened the Manor House to the public for the first time. This is now not only a winery but also a resort. The 440 acre farm has been around since the 1600's and the wines were previously made in the French style. Now, the new winemaker, Gabriel Santiago Rubilar, is Argentinian and plans to bring that style to the new wines set to be released in Spring 2026. Currently, most of the wines for purchase and tasting are still wines made by the previous winemaker from Chateau Bu De but they do have a few sparklings released so far, along with a canned blueberry cider. The patio has been redone, the ballroom is large and perfect for large events. There is even a disc golf course now if you want to play a round before or after your food and wine. The wrap around bar in the open tasting room has been redone and is a beautiful green color with white counter tops. The floor to ceiling windows are still there so the fabulous views of the Bohemia Manor River can be enjoyed from both inside and outside. The new restaurant, Harvest & Tide, has been open for a while now and features the creations of chef, Ron Milburn. Lunch, dinner & even bubbles & brunch on Sundays are available. We couldn't be more excited to taste through the wines in the spring and pick one for the Bottle Review podcast. Last year we did do a podcast on the 2015 blanc de blanc as a toast to the previous owners and winemaker and also a cheers and congratulations to the new owners and their purchase. It was toasty and bubbly with notes of vanilla, biscuit, lemon, almond, coconut and pear. We have tried and enjoyed the 2024 blanc de blanc. It was made from chenin blanc and had aromas of toast, almond, lemon and honey. The blueberry cider is refreshing. With everything going on now at Bohemia Manor, you have to check it out and enjoy for yourselves.
