What are we sipping on?

.

This section highlights our favorite wines from Maryland that we've tasted this month. We’re showcasing standout selections across four key categories. You'll find our top picks for Red, White, Sweet, and Rosé wines. Each wine represents the best of what Maryland vineyards have to offer. It’s our way of celebrating local excellence in every glass. Below are the criterion we base our decisions on.

  • Appearance – Clarity, color, and intensity of the wine in the glass.

  • Aroma (Nose) – The complexity, intensity, and pleasantness of the wine’s scent (e.g., fruit, floral, spice, oak, earth).

  • Flavor (Palate) – How the wine tastes, including the balance of sweetness, acidity, tannins (for reds), alcohol, and fruitiness.

  • Mouthfeel – The texture of the wine on the palate (e.g., smooth, velvety, astringent, full-bodied).

  • Finish – The length and quality of the aftertaste once the wine is swallowed.

  • Overall Impression – The wine's harmony, uniqueness, drinkability, and how well all the elements come together.
